Welcome to "Together For The Gospel"
|
“Together For The Gospel” is an initiative of Christians from various
churches in Poland, connected by a common desire to spread the Gospel
and a concern for healthy Biblical teaching.
We base our
identity on a common Statement of Faith and Rules, as well as a life
lived in agreement with these statements. In this way Together we have
decided to act For The Gospel, to the praise of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

The faith has been given once for all to the saints (Jude 3). It does not change from generation to generation. Yet, each of those generations must discover faith for itself. What is it that makes us truly glorify God? What is it that changes our lives by bringing into them God’s glory and holiness?
Here are our answers:
- We worship the One, all-powerful God, the Creator of the universe, in three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- We approach Him only through the mediation of Jesus Christ. Our Lord is fully God and fully man. He came down from heaven, has lived a perfect life and willingly agreed to die as a ransom for sinners. He has risen from the dead and now rules forever. He will come back in glory to judge the living and those who died.
- We confess our own sinfulness and lack of power; our need of God's grace; the forgiveness of sins and the need for our lives to be changed. In seeking these things we rely on God's help alone.
- We proclaim the need to be born again by God, which begins a new life of obedience and faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
- We are thankful that we are justified by faith through his death and for the life changing gift of the presence of the Holy Spirit.
- We rely on our faith in God's Word, which is the Bible (containing 66 books of the Old and New Testaments). Because of this, we treat the Scriptures with the highest possible respect, and as the only infallible guide from God containing His will for our lives.
- We see our lives as a time of service, in which we deny ourselves and change our lives through the sanctifying power of the Spirit, according to the pattern given to us by the life of Jesus Christ. We see sanctification as the inevitable fruit of true, saving faith.
- We submit to the Spirit, who joins us into the visible body of Christ. This body exists as local churches, which are to preach the Gospel faithfully; baptise converted sinners in the name of the Father, Son and Spirit; meet around the Lord's Table and guard the authenticity of the faith by disciplining its members.
- We warn about eternal damnation in hell, which is God's just penalty for all who who do not accept the Gospel.
- We expect heaven – a new reality, in which God will be for ever our Father, and we will be for ever to Him His people.
Lord, please, come!

But be doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. (James 1:22 NKJ)
We are convinced that true Christianity is a way of life. We are also convinced, that the acceptance and practice of basic biblical rules (or life-values) - mentioned below - are a natural consequence of confessing the true faith.
Here are the rules, which are the basis of our lives and our service:
I. God is Creator, the highest King and the Lord of all the universe.
True Christianity means submitting ourselves to God and accepting His rule over every part of our lives. That is why submission to civil authorities is always secondary. A Christian’s obedience to God is of primary importance. But human authorities are ordained by God, and therefore should be acknowledged by Christians. God requires from human rulers that they act justly, protecting those citizens who follow God’s laws and punishing those who break them. Christians should respect and be obedient to earthly rulers.
II. Human life from its beginning is protected by God.
Human life commences at conception. All means of contraception that destroy fertilized human cells or makes use of them in a way that hinder its growth into fully developed human being are sin. Abortion, euthanasia and suicide are also contrary to God’s will.
III. God created human beings as men and women.
Men and women have equal dignity and value because both are created in God's image and likeness. However they do differ in distinctive gifts and functions. The function of maternity is an example of the unique calling of women. An example of the unique calling of man is leadership in his family and in the church.
IV. Marriage is a union between a man and woman based upon a given promise of faithfulness.
Sexual relationships are to be confined to marriage and marital fidelity is to be expected from Christians. Sex outside of marriage is a sin. Divorce and remarriage are not God's way of dealing with marital problems. A marriage is a relationship between man and woman alone. The practice of homosexual relationships is a sin.
V. The Church is submitted to God's rule.
The Church submits to the rule of God and is called to preach the Gospel and to live according to the teachings of Christ, no matter what the current trends and laws of society might be. In preaching God's Word and in organizing its life the Church is not dependent in any way on civil authorities and responds to God alone.
