Do we have to adjust the Gospel to the needs and beliefs of contemporary people?

“Together For The Gospel” European Conference

On 3-5 June 2010 we are planning a European conference for the ‘Together For the Gospel’ movement. Its main theme is – ‘The Gospel in the Twenty First Century’.

In many circles there is a common view that if we want to lead people to Christ, we should adjust the Gospel to the expectations of contemporary culture and its dominating trends. Such a conviction has a powerful influence on methods of evangelism and styles of pastoral work. The June ‘Together for the Gospel’ conference will focus on this highly important issue.

We expect participants from different parts of Europe. As for lecturers, we have invited preachers from Great Britain, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland. Pastor Brian Edwards from the UK will be our main teacher. He is well known as an international preacher, lecturer, and author of theological and apologetic books.

The conference will be organised in Torun, at the Hotel Filmar. Initial applications can be made by e-mail until 30 January 2010.

The estimated cost of the conference (including participation in the conference and accommodation for 2 nights, including meals about 75 euro (depending on chosen option).

The plan is for 100/120 participants from Poland and other European countries. Invitations have been sent to several evangelical churches in the Ukraine and Belarus, but it is realized that the estimated cost quoted above is quite high for average wage earning eastern Europeans who may consider attending. The plan is to reduce the cost for Christians from Eastern Europe through a sponsorship fund. You can help with this initiative by sending a gift towards the conference.
